On the 25th year of Pope John Paul II's papacy (16th October 2002) one
of the Pope's first official acts was to sign a new apostolic letter;
'Rosarium Virginis Mariae', calling the Rosary his favourite prayer and
urging us to rediscover its contemplative richness. The letter announced
the beginning of a world-wide 'year of the Rosary' and the addition, to
the centuries old prayer of Five optional 'Mysteries of Light', that focus
on the episodes from Christ's public ministry.
The Pope said that the reason for adding new mysteries was to 'broaden
the Rosary's horizon' and make it possible for those who recite it, with
devotion and not mechanically, to explore more deeply the Gospels context.
Pope John Paul II says that the Rosary is a powerful prayer for peace,
for families and for contemplating the mysteries of Christ's life. The
Pope encouraged the addition of five 'Mysteries of light' - moments from
Jesus' public ministry - to further underline the Rosary's focus on Christ.

The Baptism of Jesus
The Second Luminous Mystery
Christ's Manifestation at the Wedding Feast of Cana
The Third Luminous Mystery
Jesus proclaims the coming of the Kingdom

The Fifth Luminous Mystery
The Institution of the Eucharist, the Paschal Mystery
Dana has enjoyed

top rating television appearances and major headlining concerts at
home and abroad.
The former, 19 year old, Eurovision song contest winner(1970), sang
for the Pope in 1987 in New Orleans at the SuperDome.The song was
"Totus Tuus"(Totally Yours)which she composed.
Dana,again,sang for the Pope in 1993 in Denver Colorado.Her song"We
are one Body" was chosen to be the World Youth Day '93 Theme
song.
Dana,then was asked to sing for the Pope in 1995 at Central Park,New
York. The requested song was the World Youth Day '93 theme song"We
are one Body".
